I understand your point here- I'm not speaking for klem, but I think he's looking to really give the image of the Lotus itself a very surreal 'punch' to the eye.

To me, it makes the image like Ronnie's coming out of the past and coming at me, which is a very beautiful thought.

I remember when his death happened, and I still miss him. he was exciting and very dynamic, coming into his own at that time.

I definitely agree with you that perhaps there could be a Monaco background just to see how different the visual effect of the art would be. It'd be a very different feel for certain. :)
